Mr Godwin Obaseki nahin don carry the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket after hin win 11 other candidates for primaries inside Benin City, Edo State. The leader of the party national delegation wey do the primary election plis Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, announced the results for Benin, the state capital. Mr. Masari yan say Mr. Obaseki score 1,618 votes to take defeat hin 11 opponents. Other pipu wey do the election be Deputy Governor Pius Odubu, who score 471 votes; former Minister of State for Works, Chris Ogiemwonyi, 137 votes; Ken Imasuagbon, 247 votes; a former governor of the state, Osariemen Osunbor, eight votes .
